This watch design holds deep significance in the history of Shiro Kara Watch Co. The Captain Under the Grandline was introduced as the first model in our debut collection, marking the beginning of our journey to the public. While it wasn’t the very first Shiro Kara watch ever created, it was the first design released for public sale. 

To answer the question The Captain stands as the third watch design ever made by Shiro Kara Watch Co. 🕒 That is why it holds such meaning to me.

The original version was extremely limited, with only seven pieces ever produced each now in the hands of their respective owners. Of course, I made sure to keep one for myself as well. 

Over time, we received many inquiries about the “Captain” design, but it had already sold out, and we had to let people know it was no longer available and would not be reproduced.

Due to the continued interest, I decided to revisit the concept and introduce a new variation creating space for something fresh while still honoring the original design.

The result is what you see here: the CAPTAIN SUB WITH DATE a modern take on a meaningful piece of our journey.

I create these vintage-inspired pieces by hand, one at a time, and the watch shown is the exact timepiece the buyer will receive. While this design can be requested again, each watch develops its own character over time. Because every vintage Shiro Kara is handcrafted, no two will ever age the same way each patina is unique, making every piece truly one of a kind.
