The Swordsman represents the third watch from Shiro Kara's Grandline series, completing the Monster trio along with the Cook and Captain, respectively. Drawing inspiration from the iconic "Milsub" dive watch, these timepieces hold a significant place in horological history due to their close association with military forces, notably the British Navy in the 1970s. The Milsub is specialized timepiece tailored specifically for military use, featured several enhancements to meet the rigorous demands of underwater operations. One of its most distinctive features was the introduction of sword-style hands, replacing the standard Mercedes-style hands found on civilian dive watches. These broader, sword-shaped hands significantly improved legibility in low-light conditions underwater. The Swordsman from Shiro Kara pays homage to this esteemed lineage with timeless design features, including the iconic sword hands, reflecting the watch's heritage and functionality while adding a distinct green bezel derived from the watch's other source of inspiration.
