Commissioned Piece — GEAR 5: Sugar Apple in Sapphire

Featuring an aged silver-white dial from the Gear 5 series, this commissioned timepiece is fitted with black-outlined, hand-aged Mercedes hands and the highly requested Grey Ghost bezel, first introduced on the Grey Sky model. The cool, faded tones of the bezel pair naturally with the warm patina of the dial, creating a subtle contrast that gives the watch its distinct personality.

This particular piece features the second version of the Gear 5 dial, distinguished by the "NEEDLE LOGPOSE" text printed on its surface—a subtle reference that fans will instantly recognize and appreciate. The first iteration of the dial instead featured the text "VEGAPUNK," making this updated version a unique evolution within the Gear 5 series itself.

The case, bezel, bracelet, and clasp were all subtly hand-aged to maintain a clean overall appearance while introducing just enough wear to evoke the charm of a well-preserved vintage tool watch. Small imperfections, tonal shifts, and naturally uneven textures throughout the piece reinforce its lived-in character without overwhelming the design.

Finished with a flat sapphire crystal and classic diver proportions, GEAR 5: Sugar Apple in Sapphire carries the quiet presence of an old-world instrument—understated, balanced, and full of warmth.
