Commission Piece: GEAR 5 – Sugar Apple 1.2

This timepiece was created as a commission piece featuring a custom dial. The owner requested a red SUB text instead of the standard purple found on the regular Gear 5 dials, and it was an excellent choice.

The red adds a striking contrast against the white dial and gives the entire watch a stronger presence.

The Gear 5 series is inspired by vintage Sub-style divers. Each model features its own unique combination of hands and bezel insert colors, giving every watch its own personality while maintaining a cohesive identity throughout the collection.

For this particular piece, the dial has been lightly aged to achieve a warm patina. It is paired with aged Mercedes hands outlined in black, creating a vintage look without sacrificing legibility. The spear-shaped seconds hand ties everything together, bringing the black and red accents into perfect harmony.

The bezel features one of the most requested inserts in the collection: an aged grey "ghost" bezel. Its faded appearance complements the patinated dial beautifully and further reinforces the watch's vintage character.

Finished with a classic domed acrylic crystal and an Oyster bracelet, the Gear 5: Sugar Apple 1.2 is a timepiece full of charm, character, and timeless appeal.
